About

Jennifer Dawn-Williams

Jennifer is an actor whose work includes short film The First Noel, which screened at Cannes Film Festival, & Much Ado About Nothing at the RSC Stratford-upon-Avon, as part of the World Shakespeare Festival.

Jennifer started young, winning her first professional role playing Elizabeth Brontë as a child in Northern Ballet Theatre's production of the Brontës. However, it wasn't until she got her first part in a feature film - playing the medieval fairy maiden Aurora in the 2011 film Sir Lanval - that she decided to pursue a career in acting.

She trained at the ITV Television Workshop, & with some of Europe's most esteemed Meisner Technique teachers for two years, including Paul Dekker, & Scott Williams - who had studied with Sanford Meisner himself at the Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York.

Further work includes Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream in Hyde Park, London, & Mary as she ages from 14 to 65 in the radio play Departures. She played Mollie, a trouble-making servant girl in The Ballade of Mary Whyddon - an indie feature film due for release later in 2016.

Jennifer is currently co-writing a sitcom, which has received attention from the BBC, BBC Worldwide, BigTalk, Hat Trick, Lucky Giant, Retort, & Ricky Gervais' Producer, amongst others. Her & her co-writer Jennifer Rickard are currently re-writing & taking meetings.

Jennifer Dawn-Williams

Jennifer has played many musical instruments, predominantly piano, & sung since childhood. She has a wide vocal range (tenor to soprano), & has performed as an actor-musician in several Shakespeare plays, & a site-specific piece set in a derelict mental asylum.

She has performed in a variety of styles from a rock-&-roll band (that received airplay from BBC Radio 1, 2, & 6music) to an experimental string quartet that broadcast live from the Venn Festival, to backing vocals for a Neo-Soul act, to a classical choir that toured Germany. Whilst studying for a degree in Creative Music Technology, she started a record label whose debut release by SJ Esau was later re-released by cult Californian label Anticon. She played piano for a track on his follow-up album for that label.
